The community of Tutuala named this mountain, Ili Kere-Kere, which originated from a mother tongue in this place called Fataluku. In the Fataluku language, Ili means mountain and Kere-Kere means colorful, therefore Ili Kere-Kere means colorful mountain.

Ili Kere-Kere is a cave mound that has its unique existence in this beloved country Timor-Leste, which is filled with unknown paintings or images, and to date no one knows its origin, and how many years ago it came. According to some researcher said that the existence of the mountain referred to came from millions of years ago, with the reason that the image referred to came from our great-grandparents ancestors who often expressed their idea or feeling through the writing on the stone of this mountain. But the populations that are close to that area also did not know the exact history of the mount itself, they can only say that these images that appear on the stone of the mount are the heritage of their grandparents. The mentioned mount located in the eastern part of TIor, Municipality of Lautém, Administrative Post of Tutuala. Ili Kere-Kere currently as a tourist place that is very attractive to visitors, especially foreign tourists visiting from our beloved country East Timor. There, visitors freely visit this tourist place, and if they have time to visit, they can spend time there to see directly the island of Jaco and other tourist places that exist in this beloved homeland, including Mount Ili Kere-Kere.
